k&k episode 114 - the one where they consider their acceptance speech... and stuff...

We couldn't get rid of Frog with a Blog, so he's still around in episode 114, where we open presents, then talk about awards ceremonies, the various ways of celebrating mardi gras and theatrical adventures.

This episode was brought to you by the word "cracher" (to spit. because according to the Muffin Man, "hock a loogie" can't be translated into French. If there is someone out there who can verify this, that would be LOVELY.).

We spent much time in this episode talking about the Césars, which will be held on the 22 February

We know what crêpes are in the US, normally. We know the difference between the two. Though crêpes are really a dessert food. I never saw one with ham in the US. Kyliemac, in my part of Michigan (and all over greater Detroit), mardi gras is observed with the Polish tradition of Punschki Day! So we use the French name for Fat Tuesday, but then we pig out on Polish pastry...

There is a restaurant in my little city of 10,000 in Wisconsin called the Cream and Crepe Café. They do crepes, but nothing like you see here. It's pretty much all crepes (no galettes) even for the savory things they put inside. They have ones with meat and veggies and seafood, except they sort of put the stuff in the middle and wrap the crepe around it like a burrito!! The dessert ones have mostly ice cream inside and sauces and fruit, also wrapped up like a burrito. Very good, but nothing like 'normal' crepes in France!PS. I adored your recreation of the Oscars vs. the Césars... made me giggle all the way to work!

Mia :

Everyone knows what crepes are. Well maybe not. Some Americans live a very sheltered life and never try anything new.And it is nice ti have Frog back again. His voice is so sexy!!! More Frog please! And what is up with the explicit rating lately? Of course, there is only one or two words.
